Apple Festival September 22

The Apple Festival is coming up!   The Market will be pressing apples and offering fresh cider as a fundraiser from 9:30- 1pm. We open at 9am as usual, but it takes a little while to get everything going. Due to space constraints at our temporary location we will not be able to offer the public the opportunity to press their own apples this year. The Festival also features the Traditional Apple Pie Contest. It’s all about the apples and the crust. You can add spices, but nothing fancy here. Please bring your entry to the Market by 10am. Please be sure that your name is attached to the bottom of your dish so it can be returned to you. Judging will begin at 10:30. Winners will be announced once the judging is complete. First prize is $100, 2nd prize $30 and 3rd is $20. Pie will sold by the slice as a fundraiser after judging.

Thanks VERY much to everyone who donated during our National Farmers Week fund drive!  With the support of generous donors who offered a match, we raised $1759.  We really appreciate your support.  We happily accept donations to the Market anytime, we have a box at the Market tent.

Believe it or not, there are only 6 Markets left.  Now is a great time to get acquainted with our new Online Market and you’ll be set up to shop when the outdoor  Market closes for the season!

Save the dates for our 2 Winter Markets- the Friday after Thanksgiving and the first Saturday in December.  November 24th features the annual chili cookoff and December 2nd features the Town of Independence Christmas parade and other activities. In addition, the Free Market will hold their Annual Christmas Shop in the Gate Center. AND IFM Kids Bucks return for both Markets.
