Pests, Diseases, Fertility and more on February 4

The Independence Farmers Market invites the public to an interactive vegetable growing workshop for all skill levels at the Grayson LandCare office, Saturday February 4th from 9 am to noon. The office is located at 104 Courthouse Street in Independence. Cost is $15 and light refreshments will be served.  This is the second part of our Grow More Vegetables workshop series. You do NOT need to have attended the first class to attend this one!

We’ll focus on managing pests, diseases and fertility using organic methods and will include some hands-on demonstrations of various tools and techniques. We’ll also cover basic irrigation. The snow date is Saturday February 11th . The class is limited to 20 people.  Please email Michelle Pridgen at [email protected] to register. Thanks to Dr. Tom Kuhar for allowing us to share the great bug photos.

The Market continues to welcome SNAP/EBT(Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)  and provide the match for fresh fruits and vegetables up to $30 at its On-line Market which is open all year. The Match program is supported by the USDA Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program.
