It’s that time of year! Lots of free,fun activities for Kids of all ages on June 30 from 9am to 1 pm. Kids Day was the first event ever held at the Market. It started in 2012.
The Virginia Family Nutrition Program will distribute HEALTHY KIDS BUCKS sponsored by Molina Health Care. The 1st 30 kids to the Market get a $10 coupon to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables, and eggs. Perennial favorites Cowboy Don will teach roping and Miss Laura will lead games and contests. Enjoy Art with Laura Dunlevy and other activities. All activities are free and run the entire market. Bring the kids and enjoy a fun day at the Market!
The Independence Farmers Market is a proud member of VAFMA and is on the Virginia is for Farmers Market Lovers trail. The On-line and regular Friday Farmers Markets welcome Snap and EBT and offer up to a $30 match for SNAP purchases to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. This grant funding is provided by the Gus Schumaker Nutrition Incentive network. In addition, the Market welcomes WIC and Senior Farmers Market coupons. The IFM is a project of Grayson LandCare.
