The Independence Farmers Market has been working with the Virginia Family Nutrition since 2013. We started out offering a cooking program with their help and the last few years, Andrea Wann has come to the Market with Healthy Kids Bucks which are sponsored by Molina Health Care. The 1st 25 kids to visit Ms. Andrea’s tent will receive $10 of Healthy Kids Bucks to purchase eggs, fresh fruits and ONLY. We’ll have healthy Kids bucks on Kids Day, June 23, July7th, July 21st and Aug 4th.
On the Fridays that Ms Andrea is not with us and the Grayson County Schools are closed for summer vacation, we’ll have IFM Kids Bucks.
Our Kids Bucks are sponsored by a generous donor and can be used to buy ANYTHING at the Market. Kids Bucks start on Friday May 26th. The first 20 kids to come to the Managers tent- the yellow one on the 58 end of Courthouse Street-will receive $5 of IFM Kids Bucks.
