Grayson County Fair

Plan to attend the Grayson County Fair August 10 from 9am to 3pm and the Youth Livestock show on Friday August 9 from 5-8pm and again during the Fair from 9-3pm on August 10. You don’t have to enter the Fair to come enjoy the fun!  While you are enjoying the livestock show and everything else the Fair has to offer, take a trip around to the many exhibitors and learn everything there is to know about farming in Grayson County.  Test your skill on the mechanical bull, enjoy a pony ride, play an old fashioned game and enjoy demonstrations of traditional crafts, and just for fun, enter the watermelon eating and seed spitting contests.

The Fair has added several new competitions this year: Poster Contest, Honey Show, photography, arts and crafts and needlework in addition to baked and canned goods and fruits and vegetables.  There is no entry fee and you DO NOT have to be a Grayson County resident to enter. Youth and adults are judged separately except for the Poster contest and Honey Show. You can find full details at the website; www.graysoncountyvaagfair.com Entry forms and information are also available at the Farmers Market, the Extension office and the Library.  Non-perishable and perishable competition entries will be accepted on Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. In addition, perishable competition entries will also be accepted Friday, August 9, 2019 from 7:00am until 12:30pm. Entries should be brought to Bottomley’s Evergreens and Farm 10278 Elk Creek Pkwy, Elk Creek, VA 24326.
