Saturday January 26– Grow More Vegetables for farm and garden workshop. 9am to noon, 108 Courthouse St. $10 includes snacks.  Learn how to grow more in less space.

Saturday February 23-Pest, disease and fertility for farm and garden.  9am to noon, 108 Courthouse St. $10. Get ready for the growing season. Includes using worms for making compost.

May  10– Farmers Market Grand Opening and Mother’s Day Craft Fair. Cooking demo with Chef Charles. Shop locally for Mother’s Day!

Sunday May 26– Farm Day Sunday 2-5 pm at Wagon Wheel Farm-FREE

June 7-Cooking Day 1st Fridays

June 14-Kids Corner with Abby opens for the season from 10-11 am

June 21– The first of only 2 Fiber Days this season.

Sunday June 23– Celebrate Dairy Month with our 3rd Annual Ice cream social fundraiser. Ice Cream with delicious homemade toppings and desserts. $10, kids under 10, $5 We’re adding a silent auction! 2-5 pm Courthouse Street.

June 28-Kids Day.  Join Cowboy Don, 4H, Miss Ellie, hoops with Laura, BRDC and more! FREE fun for the whole family

Thursday July 4– Town of Independence Parade

July 5 Cooking Day

July 12-Wellness Day- Join VDH and area health professionals for free check-ups

July 19-Berry Festival.  Enter the Berry pie contest and enjoy delicious sorbet to benefit the Market and everything Berry.  Co-sponsored by River Ridge Organics.

July 26-JAM Day –JAM( the junior Appalachian musicians) join the Market. Logjam shows off their portable sawmill, Enter the jam contest and watch a jam making demo.  It’s also Take a Break from the Interstate HWY 21 yard sale.

August 2-Tomato Festival  Free tomato tasting, enter the salsa contest and win $100!

August 4-10– Farmers Market Week

August 10-Grayson County Fair

August 23-Christmas in August- Farm and Craft Market AND the last Fiber Day of the season

Sunday August 25 – Ice Cream Social 2-5 pm, Court house Street

September 6-Cooking Day

September 13-Pepper Day. Enjoy a free pepper tasting

October 4-Squashtober. Taste the vast array of winter and summer squash, last cooking day

October 11-Apple Festival and end of the Market season.  Enter the Apple Dessert Contest, win $100! and join in the Community Cider Pressing.

November 29-1st Winter Market and Christmas Tree Fund raiser

Saturday December 6-2nd Winter Market and Chili Cook-off.  Enter the Chili contest and win $100! and stay for the Christmas Parade.
