Maureen is one of the founders of the Market. She was an original vendor with Carol Lundgrun and Taffney Taylor. Since 2008, Maureen spent summers making baked goods and bringing extra produce to the Market. Her goal has always been to see the Market become a success. Maureen will tell you that it took all of us coming together to make that happen, and she’s right. It’s also true that her support as a vendor, tireless volunteer and board member has been a large factor in making the Market what it is today.
Mountain Meadows is a backyard farm. Maureen gets help from her husband Ronnie and they sell at the Market anything that is left over after they take what they need for fresh use and canning. They grow without harmful fertilizers and pesticides because that’s the kind of food they want to eat.
The farm produces:apples, blackberries, blueberries, peaches, pears and plums. The Maddens raise chickens using organic feed and methods and sell their eggs at the Market. Maureen bakes homemade goodies such as cakes, cookies, muffins, and sourdough and white bread like days of old with no preservatives and the best ingredients. Canned pickles and jams contain only fruit and vegetables from their farm. If you like cake and ice cream, be sure to thank Maureen for coming up with the idea of the Ice Cream Socials!
