Grayson County Fair

The Grayson County Fair will be held Saturday August 10 from 9am to 3 pm at Bottomley’s Farm and Evergreens in Elk Creek.  The Youth Livestock will begin Friday August 9 at 6pm. at the same location. It will continue Saturday August 10 from 9am to 3 pm.

The Fair has added several new competitions this year.  Do you have livestock? The Youth Livestock Show has added poultry and goat shows in addition to the sheep, dairy and beef cattle shows.  Do you raise bees? Enter the new Honey Show.  Are you an artist? The poster contest is for you.  Do you like growing things?  There are several competitions that might appeal to you: fruits, vegetables, flowers and plants, and field crops.  Do you like to bake or can?  Enter the food preservation and food preparation competitions. Arts and crafts and photography are new to the Fair this year as well.  Needle arts include quilts, knitted, crocheted and sewn items. Crafts include baskets, beading, leather, jewelry, and woodworking.  There are several Art categories as well.

There is no entry fee and you DO NOT have to be a Grayson County resident to enter. Youth and adults are judged separately.  Non-perishable and perishable competition entries will be accepted on Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. In addition, perishable competition entries will also be accepted Friday, August 9, 2019 from 7:00am until 12:30pm. Entries should be brought to Bottomley’s Evergreens and Farm 10278 Elk Creek Pkwy, Elk Creek, VA 24326. A pre-registration form is available on- line at ww.graysoncountyvaagfair.com under General Competitions. Exhibitors need to print and complete the form and turn in with their entries. Please print legibly. Pre-registration is not necessary in order to participate in the county fair but is highly recommended. All products must be grown or made by the person submitting the entry within the current calendar year, unless otherwise specified in a category.
